Re: GPS can't find me

Have you tried not using manual settings? I simply use "Managed by Windows" in Google Maps and get a GPS signal fairly quickly.

Re: GPS can't find me

Does GPS toggle run the battery down, i tried something like it in the past and the phone was getting very hot and the battery was draining very rapidly.

Re: GPS can't find me

Long time reader, first time poster. I like others waited for the official release and really did not freak out over the GPS funtionality. Now that I have it, I want to play with it. This is driving me nuts... I am using Google Maps and I cannot get a satellite to lock at all. I have tried at home outdoors, in parks, now downtown and all I ever get is the Seeking GPS satellites (0)... for the longest time and then a weak GPS signal message. I have the GPS enabled in the phone settings. I have erased and reloaded Google Maps to My Device and still no luck. I just get the your location withing XXX meters and the seeking message. Anything else I can try? I want to know where I am at *LOL*

Re: GPS can't find me

i also have issues with the GPS. i am running the Adryn 6.5 rom v4.1. i installed Q-GPS and google maps. i ran the Q and then google and got no lock standing outside on a clear day. So just for the heck of it i connected to my wifi inside and did it and got an instant lock. then i went outside, back on the EVDO, and it worked! But then i tried it a few days later on the road and it didnt work. so i dont know whats going on with it. Pretty useless at home though lol.

I have location on and manual settings of com8, 57600. i would love some suggestions on how to fix this issue

Re: GPS can't find me

Two things to check:
1. Under Settings/Phone make sure GPS is set to Location ON
2. Set the com to 8 and the other setting to 57600

With these changes I lock GPS (not just aGPS) in <1 minute every time.

edit: I have Windows manage the GPS not manually, sorry I didn't notice that earlier when I first posted
