how to terminate data connection?

I had the diamond before, and now i have the omnia i900. on the diamond i was able to just hold the end key and it would terminate my data connection. Is there something like that for the Omnia? How do i terminate my data connection on the omnia?

Will this work on the CDMA i910 as well? I can see this greatly enhancing battery life...

Re: how to terminate data connection?

Best way to find out is to test it out,
if not,
all you have to do is uninstall it.
No harm done.

It mods these following registry locations:

HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings

Changes "CacheTime" to "60" (Decimal)

Changes "SuspendResume" to "GPRS_bye_if_device_off" (String)

I use that CAB on my i910, works great. It contains the registry changes in cody's post.

Re: how to terminate data connection?

If you're on any program/today screen that shows the EVDO/1X meter at the top of the screen, all you have to do is press that icon, then click "Disconnect" on the little dialog box that pops up. No need to modify any registry settings or anything like that.

well what that reg setting does is times out the data connection after 1 minute.
meaning it auto disconnects after one minute of non-usage.
alot easier than having to shut if off yourself all the time to save battery consumption.

Re: how to terminate data connection?

If you haven't done so already, check the registry values listed in cody's post above using a registry editor on your device or PC. I recommend using CeRegEditor for this task, which, when your Omnia is connected through ActiveSync, will allow you to edit the registry with your PC. Otherwise if a program is running that requests the data connection stays open, I believe it will stay on.
