Same here. XP no go. Works fine (usb mass storage connection) in Linux, though, so I know my cable and ports are functioning fine.

the sound it makes when i try to connect is funny too but active sync works fine and mass storage is fine too

i have the same problem. now the phone says i need activesync to be installed. i havw wmc installed....


theres gotta be an alternative to WMDC

Sure sounds like the cable. Does the battery charge with the USB cable plugged in? Check the taskbar icon.

Know anybody close with an Omnia? Test with their cable.

I really hate going into VZW stores. Their idea of a good cable is one that has connectors on each end.
