I'm running on vista 64 and have downloaded upgrade tool. When I go to set compatability to vista sp2, it is not there. XP sp2 is, but not vista

Nevermind, it'll do xp sp2 x64...not x32

Exactly, it makes no sense for someone on vista to try compatibility, which is why i didnt mention that.

maybe for those on vista 64 you can try downloading activesync 4.5, run that in compatibility for xp and then run the upgrade utility for xp as well...although that's alotta compatibility changes and activesync is a pretty important piece of software so even it worked it might not work well and brick a phone......yeesh...gluck vista x64ers

just upgrade to win7!!

I just flashed to it and my biggest pive about the xt9 was not fixed!!!!!!!

when typing a word and putting either a ! or a ? at the end it req. you to touch the word. if you push space it just messes everything up!!!!!


Iwould say dont worry about flashing to it based on that alone.

ohhhhh, right right right. Those who were changing compatability to vista sp2 were running win 7. Gotcha. My bad

I totally missed the free upgrade, I do have an ancient xp machine, i'm nervous about using the USB 1.0. I mean it's 2 versions old! I'd be more comfertable with 1.1. I do have a USB 2.0 PCMCIA adaptor for it, but i don't know. I'm sure i'll go for it when i get home and the itch gets too great!

The person who ran it in Vista compatability did so from Win7 64...

Im thinking maybe compatability is automatically running it in a 32 bit virtual environment? If thats the case then Vista may work in XP compatability mode...
