Launch widgets without widgetbar?

Really didn't like the widgetbar idea on my new Telus Omnia... ditched it for the Resco Contacts and Resco Today plugins that I'd just been getting to like on my Titan (RIP)... however, there were one or two widgets that I liked, particularly the AccuWeather one... is there some way to make these things work without resorting to the WidgetBar?

you could always use weatherbug direct.
