Re: What is your download speed (Verizon)?

Always use IE for speed tests cause the other browsers will probably give you false readings.
I average around 900kbps with my Vogue on IE with a good sig. When I use skyfire I get over 4000kbps. lol
If I use Mobilespeedtest.com I usually get 2400kbps on IE but I'm not sure if I believe that.

Skyfire goes through a proxy so you will not get an accurate reading.

Re: What is your download speed (Verizon)?

I used PIE and Opera Mobile (not mini, and not with turbo), both render as "desktop" browsers, so they're accurate. I ran it in SkyFire for fun, and it was saying I was getting 9Mb/sec, which is obviously due to the server based rendering.

Re: What is your download speed (Verizon)?

EVDO bursts. It is not a stable speed, and can go up or down. So, bandwidth tests are going to be inaccurate. Also, the amount of people crowding the towers, weather conditions, being inside the house, etc. all affect the speed.

Re: What is your download speed (Verizon)?

How messed up is this -

At work:
100kb file IE
43 kbit/sec
.329s latency
18.6s d/l

At home I average 150kbit/sec - thank GOD this isn't my only internet connection.

Re: What is your download speed (Verizon)?

Mine sucked a second ago, I was getting 509 kbps for a 512 kb file, but now I get 669 for it, which still sucks but not as bad. Sigh....

Re: What is your download speed (Verizon)?

I get about 450 kilobits per second in the house, which drops down to 150 or so.

I get 1 megabit near the street
