Thumbs down Internal 8GB memory missing after *228

Ok, so last week Verizon was having issues in my area with the internet on my phone not working. So i called them and they had me do a *228 then option 2 (updates roaming capabilities) and after doing so, none of my applications will load(weather watcher, google maps etc..) My 8GB memory is no longer showing up in my memory settings?? dont know why this would have happened by doing a *228, but it did. So i called Verizon back and they said that my phone somehow got flashed to an older firmware when i did the *228 and that i needed to take the phone in for service. I told them they needed to send me another one because i did not have time to go out of my way to get to a store and have them look at my phone. The tech said they couldnt send me a phone unless i went to them and had them flash the firmware. This is my 4th Omnia in as many months, i am wondering if anyone else has had this issue? I have not flashed this phone yet, it is still stock from verizon, so i am not worried about them finding anything. I just think it is BS that there system screwed me up and now i have to take time out of my life to get to a VZW store and get my phone fixed. Is there something else i can try before i do this??

That is extremely weird. I have never heard of that one. I will be wary of doing a *228 now...

i used option 2 to set the roaming like the tech told me to, the tech support person told me that the rep should have not told me to do that.

I seriously doubt *228 had anything to do with your issue. Look here for a possible fix. http://www.modaco.com/content/i910-s...ge-gone-fixed/

Did you do what the thread indicates? Did it not work?

Maybe the original issues you where experiencing where related to some internal issue and the *228 was just a coincidence. I mean right before you did *228, did you go check your available memory and say "ok, theres my 8gb" or is it possible it was missing for a short time before the OTA programing. Just thinking out loud here, but anything you did before this that could have caused problems? Reg edit, install programs, etc?...

I did get it to work but dropping my phone off my desk. =D>

didnt do it on purpose, i dropped it and then did a hard reset and it came back, i must have done about 10 hard resets since then and i guess a good drop was just what it needed. Thanks again Blazingwolf
