So if I get the Weak Signal message that means the area im isn't going to work? In other words, when you say don't move for 10 minutes that means that it should be searching for GPS for 10 straight minutes without getting interrupted by the weak signal pop up?

Thanks Adryn, it worked perfectly. You almost single-handedly make my phone better every day

Now if only we could get someone with some hefty mortscript knowledge to make a titanium panel that worked like GPS Toggle, I'd be set. Running GMaps or iGO all day long decimates battery life, but I saw no detrimental effect from leaving GPS toggle on all day.

GPS Toggle Titanium panel for the win!...

Doesn't work for me...but alas... I am Canadian, and a Telus subscriber, doomed to 5+ minute locks and stock ROM... :(

lol

This is complete BullS**t, this cab messed up my internet connection and now I cant connect to the internet. It just keeps trying to connect it self with out ny success. F***k, I was convinced that this was gonna work after reading all your commets. Complete disappointment..Just messed up my freaking Stock omnia!!!

And now it wont let me do Sh*t on my phone, it wont let me open anything!!!!

Sorry for the break down you all, but after anotherr soft reset it kinda had my phone working a lil bit better. Now I need to know how in the hell do I get rid of this cab fom my hone with out hard reset, it turned off my agps drivers!!

Re: (Possibly) Working aGPS Solution!

Dude, take your crap somewhere else. Downloading a file that the GPS can read doesnt mess anything up. This program isnt even intelligent enough to connect to the net on its own.

Learn to talk civilized, maybe I can help you.

Somebody is biting the hand that feeds (well that feeds me anyway, he still has a stock Omnia). How can he ever get a GPS Lock on a stock omnia if GPS isn't unlocked on it.

Yes I unplugged the phone from the computer after transfering the cab to my storage. After intalling the cab in download the Qmaps files and it did get on a lock many sat's but then it said the signals was to weak. and it began connecting to the internet uncontrolably but was fixed after the soft reset....

I had working GPS all the way home from work, which is a first, and locked onto 4 satellites in my house =D>

For the poster from New York, I know how you feel, I used to be the one who saw all the comments about everyone happily using their GPS while I could barely get a lock anywhere. I live in Miami, which is kind of a large city too, and I have a lot of trouble getting a lock unless I use GPSToday, or Adrynalyn's new cab. Im not sure why yours is still having trouble, but I just wanted to let you know that I know how you feel. Sorry.....

Edit:

Vrz, unless you flashed your phone to the leaked ROM or a cooked ROM your GPS is essentially locked, this will NOT work. You need to flash your phone first

Thanks, I also had a question about the leaked room; after intalling this rom on my phone what will change besides the gps being enabled. I want my phone to look as is. with this rom what is taken off from this phone?

the leaked rom will make your onmia function very close to a stock omnia with gps also working

This program downloads a list of sattelite locations (up to a week). Google Maps can read these locations.

Give it a shot!

First, what a treat to come home to. Thanks again adryn for the amazing work.

Question about this statement above however... Does this mean we need to run the app every week or so to download new sat locations? Not a big deal if so Im just trying to foresee a potential issue.

Keep in mind it will make your phone like a hard reset, meaning your numbers and messages and additional software will have to be reinstalled.

Yes, just run the program when needed. The program itself downloads the info. It literally takes 5 seconds, even if I have to run it every time I need gps its not a big deal to me, it is that fast and simple

Yes, this data does expire.

aaaaahahahahaha.... I feel rediculous using this app! It is stupid easy to use jut like adryn said!

30 second fix from indoors where I usually waited minimum two minutes.

Yea and now this...

"I already cooked 3.9.2 with now working aGPS (even better than what was posted in the aGPS thread)."

that was adryn in his rom thread! how could it get better???

Re: (Possibly) Working aGPS Solution!

Wow dude, that's quick. Indoors (though near a window - 2 bars signal), after installing to My Storage and downloading (almost instantly), it took about 25 seconds to get a lock in Google Maps.

GMaps doesn't even get beyond "Initializing GPS..." Not even saying "seeking..."

SO I soft reset.

Then I opened an internet connection again, and tried to run Q-GPS and got this error:

httpSendRequest failed: 12007

tried GMaps and I get Seeking GPS satellites (344063296)...

(Com is set to 8 and baud at 57600)

Sounds like something specific to you and your connection. Many have had success none have had this. You are using at minimum the "leaked" rom right?

I downloaded the cab via the phone so I'm not connected to the net...trying another soft reset.

I think I just jumped the gun and Opera wasn't fully established before opening QGPS

BTW should we have 7 days long checked?

If you want. Otherwise it will expire in two days by default, I believe.

Hey Ad, what are you doing to the ROM that will make it work better than this, if you dont mind my asking? Unless it's top secret, if so I understand lol

draconius 06-29-2009 07:31 PM

Re: (Possibly) Working aGPS Solution!

Thanks to all that helped! It's all up and working now. Warm lock in 5 seconds.

I am guessing the better cooked version is we won't have to select connect...he built a magic auto download new locations so we don't have to bother with it :)

Adrynalyne 06-29-2009 07:39 PM

Re: (Possibly) Working aGPS Solution!

Not quite that good. Its a different app.

Does the same thing, but better options.

I'll offer it to everyone, but I wanted the chefs to get a crack at it first.

Folks, try using Windows Mobile managed settings.

I just got a cold lock of 4 seconds...after a flash of a new rom.

mine took about a minute and a half with the com 8...etc settings. didn't manage so well when windows was doing it. but that is way better than usual so i think it is doing its job. thanks a bunch!

Dude....who are you? Ozzy????? ;-)

OK...I played around with it more after work, and with more time devoted under the sun I finally got a lock, and after that it did go faster for all my GPS apps, so it seems to work well!! :-)

I know Adrynalyne mentioned he was working with a better app currently, so I guess my suggestion of hitting up the mort-script threads to write a script to automatically open a data connection and run this every set time period on a set day is kinds moot huh?!?!

Great work once again Adrynalyne!!!!
