Omnia EVDO w/cricket

So if anyone has unlocked their omnia for cricket they probably have noticed that the hdr an username reverts back to mdn@vzw3g.com, making it impossible to get EVDO with it on cricket service.

I have been reading post on hf: (about 20 posts in for anything useful)

http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...8&page=2&pp=15

Anyone wanna throw out some ideas? I can probably test out most anything I just dont know where to start.

And the Google Maps "Trick" does NOT work!!!!!!!!!

Re: Omnia EVDO w/cricket

I have my Omnia fully flashed and working great with the exception of the EVDO/3G. I flashed my phone myself and notice that one setting keeps reverting back to @vzw.com. As far as I know nobody has found a fix for this as of yet. I would love to get this phone working to it's full capabilities with CricKet.

Re: Omnia EVDO w/cricket

I have checked my speed at speedtest and got 900 kbps they told me that the flash was for 3g and would automaticly transfer over to the EVDO.I no longer get mms I love the phone but the evdo is sketchy at best most of the time it wont connect to the internet the phone is on but not wap setings . I never have got good speed I am thinking of going bavk to the plain internet servoce with cricket and getting mms again. I was hoping it would run gps, updater, facebook and myspace apps. But it doesnot.

The phone rocks out love it had a B curve before this and this phone blows it out of the water.

I am not sure what flash you have, but my omnia works just fine with facebook and gps. My only issue is that I can't get EVDO/3G working correctly on this phone because of the one setting that keeps reverting back to @vzw.com

Maybe this will help...

For working EVDO, WAP, MMS (in + out), Custom Boot logo:

1) Place phone in USB Modem Mode
(START > SETTINGS > SYSTEM > DATA CONNECTION > As the modem through USB)
2) Load PRL
3) NAM Program phone **772 (Use touch pad (black square) to confirm each entry)
4) Edit DATA and MMS with SamsungPST using i910 DLL.
5) Load WAP setup (proxy) with rapiconfig.exe (just like Moto Q)
6) Create an MMS profile, set it as default:
Name: CricketMMS
MMSC: http://mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms
Data: Cricket-WAP (select Cricket Connection)
Gateway: None
7) Overwrite custom boot screen and sounds in the \WINDOWS folder
“Ani_Poweron.gif” and “Ani_Poweroff.gif” Dimensions: 240×400
“pwr_on.wav” and “pwr_off.wav” for sounds
