Re: Canada i910 Question
I'm pretty sure the gps uses the cellular connection to ping off the the towers, i don't if the i910 uses the data connection (aGPS). you are most likely going to have to leave the phone on. The data connection i'm not sure. on htc devices it uses data and cellular.

Re: Canada i910 Question
No.
Omnia GPS does not rely on cell towers whatsoever. However, when you shut off the phone portion of the device, its powering off the GPS portion too, hence the dependency on each other. |

Re: Canada i910 Question
I haven't looked but there might be a "Do Not Roam" setting somewhere. I just installed a new battery and it's in a complicated discharge mode I don't want to interrupt. Don't most phones allow you to not roam?
From Omniauser.pdf: To change your Roaming option: 1. From the Today screen, tap the right soft key function Main Menu ➔ Settings ➔ Phone ➔ Services tab ➔Networks. 2. Tap the Change Setting button and from the Phone - Networks screen make your System Selection and Time Setting changes. • Home only: Your phone is available for normal operation only in the designated coverage area. • Automatic: The preferred roaming list is used to acquire service. If no preferred systems are found, any digital “Automatic A” or “Automatic B” system is acquired. The above may have changed slightly from BJ28 but it should allow you to use the GPS radio and not roam. Ted
