Going to exchange a CC20 flashed Omnia...hopefully

After trying to eliminate a ground loop in my car, without using an isolator (which will kill your highs and lows), something in my phone got effed up. If I use the headphone adapter (came with the phone), or a 3.5mm adapter (eBay) - with or without the 3-way adapter in place, then I got mono sound, coming from both speakers, at a very low volume, and it sounds like a 24kb/sec MP3. Using the 3-way adapter with a headset-to-headphone adapter coming out of the headset port, it sounds perfect, stereo sound, full range, etc. Anyway, I'm going to take it to the VZW store later today, hopefully they go ahead and don't give me any crap. A tech does have to look at it, but I don't see any reason for them to read the device info, everything else (basically) looks just like the stock ROM. Oh well, if they don't take it back, Samsung will. I'd just rather get it all taken care of today. Wish me luck.

Re: Going to exchange a CC20 flashed Omnia...hopefully

Well I explained the problem to the dude and he said he'd replace it, but then checked and the warehouse was done. He said he was sure it was nothing software-related, but would have to do a hard reset, then changed his mind and said it was a waste of time. Oh well, now I have to call back when the warehouse has them in stock so they can send me a new one, since it's a non-emergency. Still though, good to know they are going to exchange it, no problem.

Re: Going to exchange a CC20 flashed Omnia...hopefully

Well I got my new Omnia up and running, but haven't flashed yet because my USB cable is in my car...15 miles away from me for now. I have a question though - what is the ROM version of a stock Omnia - mine is a refurb (I assume, though it looks 100% brand new, just not in a retail box), mine says S:i910.10 V.BJ28.2027 and modem version S:i910.10 V.BJ18. I have Google Maps installed, and only turned it on for a minute, it says it's seeking GPS satellites, though I didn't give it enough time for a first-time lock-on, assuming it could connect to begin with. I'm just wondering if maybe refurbs are getting a software update that maybe the stock Omnia doesn't have.

Doubt it. I got a refurb not to long ago (3 weeks) and it was handicapped just like my original.

Re: Going to exchange a CC20 flashed Omnia...hopefully

Interesting...i'm using adryn's v3.6 wm6.5 rom and the ROM version is says N/A. But my Modem version is S:i910.10 V.CC20. I think the ROM Version is the same if my memory is correct. I wonder what the original ROM version was?

Good question. I'd have to look, but it might say N/A like yours. I only waited about a day or so before I flashed CC20, then to Adryns WM6.5 v2.4. Can't carry my phone with me at work, so I'll check when I get home.
