Omnia WM 6.5 Titanium theme thread

I thought Sonic Boom had a great idea:

and out of respect for Adrynalyne for his hard work in cooking ROMs and supporting them, I thought I would start the theming thread so we can start creating, sharing, and maybe even doing special requests. I am not versed in Titanium theme making, but hope to learn.

Resources are a great place to start, and lioryte started a great thread for that with panels, and Editors: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=71139

Of course there is always the Titanium tweaks section of the Software forum as well:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=82
(just make sure what you download is for WQVGA, unlike most apps panels are VERY resolution sensitive and won't work unless you have the correct one)

So let's go and see what we can get going here!!!!!

It would also be very useful + friendly to post the tools (names or files if they are allowed) + methods needed/used in creating/tweaking themes, panels + pages for aspiring 'do-it-yourselfers' and theme-makers!!

P.S. I will try to keep up on moving themes to the top of the thread (hopefully we get enough to make it a challenge LOL) but if you post a theme, please follow these steps:

-Post a screenshot of the main Today page and any custom panels/pages you may have made

-A description and name of the theme (you should get the proper credit for your work)

-A file (zip or CAB) attatched for download

Thanks

Okay how do I just skin the panels and change my clock icon. I want my blue carbon fiber panels back with the blue clock icon, without breaking the notifications panel icons.

You have to modify the dll. You need to unsign it, place the icons in to the dll with a resource hacker and then resign the dll.

PE Explorer can work for the resources and there is a program on XDA-Developers to unsing and sign the dll.

Thanks in advance for the hard work and excitement you guys are showing. It will be great to have a dedicated theme group for the omnia.

FYI, have you seen Greatbal's new neo theme? HOT!! Check it out. They do need help with landscape configuration and creating more panels to fit.

Thanks monsterpt, I'm keeping my eye on this one. I am trying to create my own theme as well (Doctor Who), but I am a little frustrated that some of the resources needed seem to be pay apps (like PE Explorer).

Thanks for pointing out Greatbal's neo theme. I personally think this is the direction that MS should go with titanium. Although you could argue it is a vertical version of M2/3D. It definitely needs more panels but I do like it.:headbang:

My new ROM has Neo panels for CLauncher, CLinks and COffice as well as the original ones done by Greatbal.

I will be working on landscape and more panels over the next few days.

Also, someone at XDA has done a CAnalogclock one and I have asked him/her to post it.

I think I have said this before. :P

You need to replace resources in the dll to get it to look like that and not lose the notification icons.

What I do is unsign the dll, replace the resource I want, resign the dll and copy it over the existing dll. This is the only way to accomplish this.

Needed tools:
Resource Hacker
Signer tool

Resource hacker will not see the images it will only see the hex code (it can see bmp files but not png) so you will need to get something like PE Explorer to see the actual resources.

It is not as hard as it sounds. :)

maybe I'll give it a shot later...I'll have to extract the .cab first obviously so I can get at the dll right?

Yeah, unless you pull it from your device after you install it.

okay...for the one I wanted to work on...I extracted the .cab and there was no .dll in there....

edit: Oh and I downloaded those two things you put up wolf, but looking at the hex of the resourses means nothing to me...it's just a bunch of numbers.... I have no idea how to change anything.

Hi -
I've asked about this in a different forum, but never had a reply. Figured I'd try here, because this is definitely a "theming" issue:

The only things in WM that I've never seen reskinned for "finger-friendliness" are the pull-down menus in standard apps like File Explorer and (especially!) Pocket Outlook. I'm talking about the menus on the top bar of the app, just below the taskbar. Here's a pic of the biggest offender - the "Show" menu in Pocket Outlook:
Attachment 36307

You need to use this stupid pulldown constantly in Outlook if you want to access folders other than the basic Inbox, and like many people I have quite a few. It's almost impossible to navigate the pulldown without a stylus. Just trying to click the "+" to expand the Inbox folders is an exercise in frustration. ](*,) In fact, this one menu is the only reason I still keep the stylus attached to my Omnia -- and I'd sure love to remove it!

The menus at the bottom of the screen have now become totally finger-friendly in the various WM 6.5 ROMs. So does anyone know how to reskin that top pulldown to look similar?? Anyone who uses Outlook would be forever in your debt, because this is the #1 usability problem still remaining. THANIK YOU!

Your right, I usually try to include you two in referals to 6.5, I only mention him first (out of habit mostly) because I have used his since he first started it!! All three of you are doing fantastic work!!!!!

@ rvonder....blazingwolf is right, they all have the menus I pictured, and can all be found here:http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=83

They are all good, but all a bit different as well, just read the listings of what each include and use the one that suits your needs/likes best!!!!

*sorry again blazingwolf, thanks for catching me, I like to give credit where due!!!

OK, now I'm really confused. I've been running Adryn's latest ROMs for some time now (no offense to you or the other wonderful chefs intended!), and am currently using his 3.9.2. But I still have the same old pulldowns - in fact, the screenshot in my post was taken right from my Omnia.

Do I have to do or change anything manually to turn on the modified pulldown menus? I do have the modified popups...

Thanks, Rob

Image from my ROM version 8. I'm pretty sure it will be the same in the latest ROM from Adynalyne and bgill.

Adrynalynes latest ROM is version 4.
