Ditto. I used IGO8 this morning to navigate to campus and then work - both of which I've driven to endless times anyway so what do I need turn by turn for? I am hoping, however, that there will be an option to go back and forth between a-GPS and standalone GPS for occasions when I'm out of the coverage area and need a navaigator.

I highly doubt the option to go back and forth will be available, but here's to hoping

You don't have to switch back and forth. AGPS just uses cell triangulation to lock faster it will not prevent you from using GPS programs that do not require a data signal.

Thumbs up to that! That's the best news I've heard all day

And I guarantee you the official release won't have Windows Mobile 6.5 like some of the cooked ROMs do.

I thought long and hard but I don't want to brick my phone then have to get a new one. I wish there was such a thing as a brick proof rom then I would do it in a heartbeat.

Even the official firmware release won't be "brickproof" as you could still run into certain problems while doing the firmware upgrade. I can understand your hesitation, though. I too was somewhat diffident when deciding whether or not to flash to CC20. But for whatever it's worth, the odds of bricking your phone are minimal and most users who have done so have had great success. Don't be intimidated by all the flashing problems you may read about here and over at Modaco - Remember, people tend to comment on forums more when they have problems than they do when they don't. So of course there are going to be more complaints and problems about flashing than there will be about users having a successful flash. If you decide to do it, just make sure you follow the instructions and have all the drivers installed. If you do this, you should flash without a hitch.

And if, by small chance, you do brick your phone, just take it back to the store and get a new one. It's especially easy if you're still within your first 30 days.

Re: Verizon Touch PRO GPS unlocked...but nothing yet for Samsung Omnia

As long as you follow the steps, get a good download of the rom (i.e. not corrupted) and your computer is stable enough to not crash during the flash, it should work fine. But if it does stop working, just go to a store and say that it stopped turning on.

Yep ... In fact, this is the best time to earn a degree in flashing ... within your 1st 30 days ...
