You can disable the Samsung dialer with the registry hack below:

- Disabling of Samsung dialer:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skin]
"Enabled"=dword:1, you should change to 0 and reboot your Omnia

You can turn it off or delay the amount of time that goes by before it pops on. Settings > Phone > Services > Dialer Touch Lock > Change settings.

That's only in the new ROM, not in the original.

If its the original rom, the poster can use my dialer patch.

Re: Is there anyway to delay or eliminate the phone lock thing?

I've updated the ROM on my omnia, changed the time on the "dialer touch lock" to 10 seconds... it still seems to lock after 3-5 seconds. It's very frustrating when you are using a voice mail client and have to continually unlock the keypad.

Re: Is there anyway to delay or eliminate the phone lock thing?

for voice mail you can setup string like this: in the phone setting for voicemail type in *86P@@@@#P1 where @@@@ is your pin number this way it will call your voicemail (*86); wait about 2-3 sec (P) dial your pin number with # (@@@@#); wait 2-3 sec (P) dial 1 for new mail.... is there is no new voicemail it will just say you don't have any.....

Most of the ROMs available will let you know if you have voicemail before you dial.

Verizon loves voicemail. You get charged time when the caller is leaving messages and when you are retrieving same. Double time for them. And the rounding up of minutes . . .
