Anyone go from a Titan to an Omnia?

I've been using my Titan (Verizon XV6800) for quite awhile and it's been a great phone. The development community for the Titan is pretty big and I've been through who knows how many ROMs on the device.

With that said, I'm wondering what I'd be giving up by going to an Omnia. The Titan is a little bulky and I'm attracted to the smaller size of the Omnia. Obviously, I'd be giving up the slide out keyboard... which I think I can live with.

Crucial features for me: GPS, tethering, Wi-fi (to run WMwifirouter, and of course the ability to flash custom ROMs. I see there is some ROM development going on here. What is the general concensus on the custom ROMs for the Omnia?

the place for you to start is flashing the leaked cc20 rom found here
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=69628

then flashing to any of the i910 roms because they all give u what you want.. u are only losing a keyboard from the list of what u want... here is a rundown of what they are.

any more questions?

I went from a very custom Titan to an Omnia, myself. The leaked CC20 Rom enables GPS, and everything else I've ever used on my Titan is working wonderfully on my Omnia.

^Same here. I don't miss the keyboard as much as I thought.

Re: Anyone go from a Titan to an Omnia?

I used the 6800 for a year and then switched to the omnia. I enjoyed it, I flashed dcd's roms and No2chems roms and then switched over to the reloaded roms. I also tried early wm 6.5 roms. Even with all of the roms out there i always felt the phone was buggy. I am so happy I switched to the omnia. When i first switched to the omnia there was no GPS and no flashing. The phone was enough to keep my happy. Now the flashing has begun and the GPS is unlocked. Although this community is smaller than the 6800 community, there is some really good work going on! You won't be disappointed!

Agreed. I like the Omnia better, larger screen, better sound, smaller, lighter. I still have the 6800, but no urge to go back.

Re: Anyone go from a Titan to an Omnia?

Fantastic. Thanks for the feedback folks. That's exactly the information I was looking for. I'm up for my "new every two" through Verizon and with my corporate discount can score the Omnia for $49.99 with free overnight shipping. I guess worst case scenario would be not liking the Omnia and flipping it on Ebay for a profit... but, it sure sounds like I'm going to enjoy it.

Titan to Omnia here. Love it, in both its flashed and unflashed form.

Speed. Screen. And copious amounts of memory.
