ROM question

I am new to the "Flashing" ROM idea, Verizon is sending me a new phone on Tuesday cause my old one's alignment was awful and I tried a hard reset and got the "Align screen of doom" problem.

Would it be worth it to flash my new phone to the new rom with GPS unlocked and all the other stuff.

Also, what noticeable differences is there between the standard OS and the flashed rom.

Thanks

Re: ROM question

I don't even know much about it and I'm a noob too but from being on this site for a few days(nonstop), I know that having a cooked rom is waay better than an OEM rom. Im gonna guess on this one(and guys correct me if im wrong) but I believe the general idea is too apply applications or have "custom" apps installed, unlocking things such as GPS capabilities, making more memory, faster speeds, cutting out all the crap that your carrier has implemeted in them. Plus it'll give you a new updated look and the sweet thing is you can change(flash) as much as you'd like.

(im pretty sure more responses will clear this up for ya.)

Re: ROM question

That's about right. You just have to flash the cc20 rom first. I've flashed about 15 of Adryn's roms and a couple of Bgills.. I've had no problems so far with flashing. Right now Adryn's 6.5 is getting most of the attention here, but his considers 1.4 to be the stable release. Over at modaco it would be Wozzer's getting the most attention.

Happy flashing.
