well, i read on here a few times that verizon was going to release a firmware update on the omnia that would include the gps unlock.

on that GPS unlock thread, quite a few people said that and we expecting that update. I had also read that the update will happen on the early half of 2009, before june 30 2009 but it didn't give an exact date. (it was actually on the verizon forums) I guess i'm goin to have to unlock the gps myself, i was wanting to wait it out.

Its ok, you don't have to believe me. But seeing how the person who threw out the 5/11 date, and gave us the beta rom (azintegra rules!) is on my IM list and talks to me regularly....
5/11 was never said to be a public release date. Not once. Not until the internet junkies mangled the statement and rewrote it.

I'm not too worried about it, with the beta GPS is now unlocked and we have ROMs being cooked, so aside from aGPS, is there any real reason to be as anxious about the 'official' release? I know I'm not even interested in the official except for the fact that some people have mentioned it MAY make cooking a bit easier, but as WoZZer and Adrynalyne have already proven, it can be done (heck...we even have a WM 6.5 ROM now)!!!

well with the official release the cookers might be able to get at the other parts of a ROM and not just the PDA portion, not sure what's in those parts...

Not much is in the CSC--but it does hinder getting Samsung Widgets working.
At any rate, I could care less. My roms are freaks of nature anyway. When I find something not working in CC20, I take stuff from the latest i900 ROM (DXID1) and replace them. Hence the working wifi. Mwahahaha! Its alive!!! |
