Charger-cradle question
Heya! I posted this question on another forum and I thought I would post it here as well in hopes of finding a way of making my cradle work.
I am using windows vista on a Toshiba laptop (with USB 2.0 ports). My phone is the i910. I recently bought this: http://www.cellularaccessory.com/sami910dtc.html I returned the first one because it would not sync with the computer, it would charge, but the computer would not see it. Although at one time it did see it as an "unknown device" (but only from one specific USB port). I received the replacement and plugged it in and for a second it did look like it was going to sync up... MyMobiler tried to connect, then said it was connected.... then it disconnected and once again, it will not sync. It seems unlikely that I got two broken ones in a row - I am not aware of any drivers (and I have searched) that I need or anything... I am stumped. I REALLY REALLY want this to work. Does anyone have any idea what is going on or can anyone offer any suggestions? Take care, Rob |

Re: Charger-cradle question
Ok, so this does indeed seem to have been a step in the right direction. When I disabled the advanced network functionality (unchecked the usb to pc checkbox) the computer saw the charger and installed a driver... then still didn't connect.
So then (with the phone still plugged in) I reenabled the advanced network functionality and then the PC saw the charger and ACTUALLY CONNECTED to the phone. "MyMobiler" connected, Mobile Device Center saw it, and my Omnia was listed in "My Computer".... for about 5 seconds, then it disconnected. By repeating the steps I am able to get it to do this every time - it will actually connect for 3-5 seconds, not long enough to be at all useful. But long enough to have my hopes up again. So thank you Ra... do you (or anyone else) have any ideas from this point? Take care, Rob |
