Cant FLASH 1.3!!!!!

See http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=66388 for background.

Ok... I can't flash the new 1.3 ROM!!!! I get to the "Detect" step and it never detects. When I turn on the phone it actually boots up instead of starting the Flash. I'm positive it is related to the problems I was haveing earlier. I've flashed about 5 times before without a hitch. Now I can't get it to work. I've even uninstalled the USB Hub in Device Manager and rebooted.

Somebody please help me!!!!!!!

Oh.. I've tried all my USB ports and none work with the flash. The left ones work for connecting to the Windows Mobile Device Center but the right one does nothing, at all!!!

Either you have an intermittent Omnia USB cable or an intermittent laptop or USB subsystem on the laptop. I think you got very lucky. Many phones have been bricked by intermittent problems that initially connected and then failed during the flash.

Try going to the laptop or motherboard manufacturer's website to see if there are any USB driver updates.

M$ (and hardware manufacturers) had lots of issues getting USB off the ground. Trust nothing before USB 2.0. I would not flash with that computer again until the problem is resolved.

I don't get the feeling that it is intermittent. It seems to work perfectly for everything once it connects. It seems like it just haves trouble making the connection. Once it does I can look through the phone and move files around with file manager no problem. I can flash the ROM, or do whatever. It seems very stable once it connects. I doesn't seem like a bad connection... I'm no expert but it doesn't seem like a intermittent connection.
