Re: So whats so cool with 6.5???

yeah I will just be waiting until 6.5 is fully operational. Wozzer has done great work with what he has, but to reduce the risk of a brick I am going to try to minimize the amount of times I flash..lol. So For now your 1.0 ROM is fine for me

Re: So whats so cool with 6.5???

I'm not speaking with omnia experience, in particular, but I cooked 6.5 for the htc vogue and I didn't see what the hub-bub was about. There were 2 major things that I didn't like about it.
1: It wouldn't allow quickmenu to replace the start button's function.
2: It wouldn't keep the settings screen open. Whenever I'd hard-reset, I would have to enter the settings like 10 different times.

Re: So whats so cool with 6.5???

Personally I'm loving WoZZeR's latest build of 6.5. He's added a bunch of additional panels; there's a great tool for reordering the start menu items; and just about everything can be customized by just editing some simple xml .cpr files.

I've also re-flashed WoZZeR's various ROM's about a dozen times with no issues. Again my feeling is that this is a very safe and simple process as long as you follow some basic tasks.

Re: So whats so cool with 6.5???

6.5 would be a good choice if came officially from Samsung (as HTC is doing for example). I think Samsung did a great job setting and tuning WM6.1 for Omnia. Omnias WM6.1 implementation is far better than HTCs(Diamond/Pro) out of the box.
Cookers are doing a good job however, but still on the most recent builds I have been experiencing weird behavior with power management stuff. That is keeping me back with 6.1 plus my personal tweaking which operates great and stable.

Re: So whats so cool with 6.5???

The HTC specific builds out there of 6.5 are based on older code than what us cooks are currently providing. However, there are updated drivers.

The biggest disadvantage that the Omnia faces, and will probably always face, is that the drivers are 6.1 drivers. The main part of the kernel, is 6.1.

Those two things hold it back.

The 500 series of builds are Samsung specific, but it doesnt matter, because AFAIK, the OEM portion is not available, or not compatible. These too, contain updated drivers, but are based on older code.
