Mobile Email and Wi-Fi?

Hi. Is there any way of using Mobile Email with a Wi-Fi connection instead of cellular data?

Re: Mobile Email and Wi-Fi?

yea, just set up your email in outlook on the phone and hook it up to wifi and start syncing. if it starts to want to call the data line on you when away from the wifi, just set the check email timing to manual.

Re: Mobile Email and Wi-Fi?

are you wanting to connect to webmail like yahoo, hotmail, google? if you are, why not use one of the mobile apps? or are you trying to set up "look-a-like" app like outlook? if that's the route you're looking for, look at a program like flexmail. it's not free, but i'm sure that there's some out there that are similar and free. check the freeware site.

anyway, just connect up via wifi and check your mail. (after you have it set up of course)

Re: Mobile Email and Wi-Fi?

Sounds like the poster is using the Mobile Email app from Verizon. While I've not tried it, I see no reason why wifi cannot be used--is it giving an error? Or is it overriding the wifi?

Re: Mobile Email and Wi-Fi?

I am using the Mobile Email app from Verizon. My Mobile Email disconnects ONLY when Wi-Fi is connected, the picture I posted shows that. It's the icon to the right of the start menu. And when I try to use the Mobile Email app when Wi-Fi is connected it says "this action requires network coverage". Maybe I do need a different app
