Contacts Photo Reolution?

Does anyone know what the ideal size/resolution/aspect ratio is for photos used for contacts? Height and width in pixels would be the most useful information, but I'll take any hints I can get.

Obviously, I want the photo to appear crisp on the screen and not distorted by having the wrong height/width ratio. But I would like to keep the size of the images small to conserve space as well.

What are you using?

Re: Contacts Photo Reolution?

Do you use any other programs for caller ID, Outlook, Gmail, etc? It may depend on what you use. Outlook supports higher res images than Gmail. Since Gmail is my lowest res for contacts that's what they become on my phone. What do you use?

Re: Contacts Photo Reolution?

Ideal size for me: 240 x 400

I use iCaller for my CallerID on incoming calls and I use S2V to assign pictures to my contacts.

Re: Contacts Photo Reolution?

Much like the first two answers you got, it really depends on the app, or screen you are using. If your not using any 3rd party app for caller ID screen, it really doesn't matter too much because WM automatically resizes any picture you assign to that postage-stamp (if that) size image you see when a call comes in. If your using a full-screen caller ID, then you need a 3rd party app to assign images. For instance...I use the S2U2 full-screen caller ID screen, and under normal circumstances, it will stretch the image to the screen-size, usually resulting in a very pixelated (sp) image. A_C also created an imaging app named S2V that will assign true-sized images, so I save all my contact images as close to my screen-size as I can.
