icon problems

Help -- I'm a newbie and can't seem to get my icons to appear as anything but opera icons!!!

I'm trying to replace some icons in Ultimate launch with icons I've downloaded to my PC and emailed to my Omnia. They appear fine on the PC, but when I save them to the phone all icons are the red opera logo.

The files are .ico files. When I try as .png files, they simply do not appear...

What should I do?
