Camera storage grayed out

Ok I've searched all over the place but I still can't figure out why when I try to change my storage location for my camera from the default internal to the storage card I can't because it's grayed out. Does anyone one have a reg edit to get around this or something please? I barely have 6MBs left as it is, I really hate how Verizon setup the storage on our Omnias is really retarded, why can't they give us some freedom and not divide the memory?

I didn't have any trouble with it. Where are you trying to change it?
I brought up the camera, clicked on the settings (gear with wrench symbol), clicked again on the settings tab (gear with wrench symbol), and under "default storage" there was the option of "My device", "My Storage", or "Storage Card". I chose "My Storage" and it is working fine.

Is that what you did?

I chose "My Storage" since that is the internal 8MB that we have been given, and not the 128MB that is always a premium. I am saving the "Storage Card" for backups, and haven't even begun to max out the "My Storage".

Re: Camera storage grayed out

Not sure of any registry edit for enabling/disabling that but perhaps you can change the storage path manually in your registry since it won't let you do it through the camera application.

HKCU > Software > Microsoft > Pictures

String Value Name: StorageCardPath
String: \Storage Card\DCIM\101SSCAM

This sucks, maybe my omnia is busted, the reg didn't work nor the camera, this is lame. I can only take about 11 pictures at a time.

Re: Camera storage grayed out

Is there any third party s/w on the device? If so, you may want to try uninstalling one at a time and seeing if ths resolves the issue. Mysteries like this seem to often be the result of a third party application causing another app to react differently.
