Auto Dimm like LG Dare

My wife has the the LG Dare, and I just noticed that when you hold the phone to your ear, it dims to black, then when you bring the phone down from your ear, the screen comes back on. It has a sensor similar to the Omnia i910.

I know our omnia can have the blackout set shortly after you make a call, but you have to press a button to turn back on the the backlight.

Is there a program out there that will sense that you are covering up the light sensor, and will work similar to the Dare?
