Problems using Sbp Pocket Plus with new rom....

okay, so I decided NOT to wait and I flashed to the new rom, using Vista 32bit, no probs at all, thanks to the person who posted the "turn off Omnia" instructions...

anyway when I restored my Sbp Backup everything seemed to go well, I did a soft reset and there came the problems...

I use PhotoContacts Pro...I haven't run into anyone here who uses it but I figured I'd post my question and see if anyone can help...anyway after the soft reset everything booted up and as usual the last thing to boot up and run is photocontacts I see the splash screen and it never disappears...! I can still navigate thru the menus but the splash screen remains...

I noticed that on the start menu the font was very small, I'm talking stylus only small...I went to the system settings for "large display" and it would not open...

2 more soft resets same thing...I tried to remove Photocontacts and the phone just hung...so I did the unthinkable hard reset and re-install eveything fresh...same problem...so I uninstalled sbp pocket plus and soft reset and everything works!!!

the reason I use pocket plus in conjuction to mobile shell is because pocketplus has a nifty 'X' button feature that completely closes programs so they are not running in the background...zip file support, and even a tab feature for PIE. plus a bunch of other features... can anyone tell me why with the new rom does it not play nice anymore?

I'm not sure why it's not working for you.... It works just fine with mine.. I'm using Pocket plus with just the core options, and zip file support, in conjunction with SPB Mobile Shell, and I had no problems after the rom update. Could it be your "Customize Menu" settings?

thanks for answering...the problem is definitely with Pocket plus and PhotoContacts I like both programs and would like to continue to use both...but with the update they don't play nice together and Google maps doesn't work, and VZnav doesn't work either....google maps never gets a lock I waited out side for 20mins while smoking a cigar and nothing...

VZnav can't initialize the GPS so this update took my otherwise flawless Omnia and left me with 4 things that don't work...that's another reason I wanted the option to go back...Im gonna have to get another Omnia and wait for an official update...

okay I figured out the PocketPlus and Photocontacts problem, but I still can't get GPS working...so I'm down to only 2 programs that aren't working...there is light at the end...as they say...

I had the same problem with Pocketplus after I upgraded to the new ROM. Took me a while of troubleshooting to figure out it was pocketplus, but I have since left it off. I use Wisbar Advance 3, so I still get the "close program x-button" effect pocketplus had. All i was missing was .zip support till i installed total commander. For now I can handle not having PocketPlus till the offical ROM comes out or PocketPlus is updated.

As for your GPS issue have you set the GPS settings in google maps to Com 8, Baud 57600? I did that and I get locks, it takes a while, but I get them. I'm gonna try the Verizon aGPS fix from over at the Vogue forum, see if that works for the omnia in speeding up GPS locks, it did wonders for my xv6900!

yea I have a the GPS settings but it just says 'initializing GPS' and nothing...

as far as pocket plus I found that disabling the "taskbar battery indicator" fixed all the problems...
