Re: Beta rom

Can someone please post instructions on how to get google maps working with the new ROM? I have the GPS icon showing in my settings. To change the settings for the GPS I had to install GPSID Settings. I have GPS program port to COM3, GPS hardware port to COM8 with Baud rate 57600, and have manage GPS automatically checked. The GPS location is on. I still can't find a GPS signal. Did I do something wrong?

Re: Beta rom

njdevils_27....did you go into settings > personal > phone > services, chose GPS + change settings and switch from 911 to location? It sounds like that may be the missing step in your case.

Re: Beta rom

ok, so i flashed my phone last night. today i re-loaded all my apps. thats when the trouble started.my phone would lock up when opening a sms message or when the phone had to "think" (the wait cursor spinning) it was to the pointthat i had to do a hard reset to get it working again. after much troubleshooting by installing each program one at a time and soft resetting then testing. found out i have 2 programs that are causing the problems SPB Phone Suite and S2U2 v1.62. as long as these are not installed everything is peachy keen, except i REALLY like both of these programs! anyone using either of these programs without problems???

Re: Beta rom

Just an FYI--Flash Lite 3.1 must be built into this rom--Opera flash and youtube works too.

After you do it, turn on Google. It will show seeking Satilite (0)...leave it for 10 minutes. You will then get a lock.

Re: Beta rom

After carefully reading posts for the last 2 days I successfully flashed to the new rom. Followed advice on GPS settings and everything works great. I immediately tested the GPS on google maps and got 5 or 6 sats pretty quickly. FINALLY, weather and GPS the two things I really wanted added!! (now maybe i can leave the Touch at home)
Thanks again to everyone for the helpful advice!

p.s. I used this guide.
