Re: anyone hear anything...?

Sorry, but I figured your post entitled "anyone hear anything" was about the ROM update everyone is waiting for, so I never looked. It is better to put more details in the title, to attract attention. I would have looked if it said "300 mA hour battery" in the title.

But I am just looking for one myself, and don't know if this or any 3rd party battery actually works. Hope somebody can confirm that this or some other battery works. I think there is a magnetic switch in the i910 and batteries, and not in the i900 batteries, to prevent getting them confused, but not sure.

Re: anyone hear anything...?

third party batteries will not charge inside the Omnia, they may work in a cradle type charger, but I don't know anyone that has tried it...so unless its made by samsung I would not recommend you buy it..

Re: anyone hear anything...?

Here is what the Omnia 910 manual says:

"Using A Non-Supported Battery
Samsung handsets do not support the use of a non-supported
battery.
When using a non-supported battery, you will hear a series of
beeps and you will see a warning message that indicates “NONSUPPORTED
BATTERY. SEE USER MANUAL.” If you receive this
warning, battery charging has been disabled.
Samsung charging accessories (i.e. wall charger, and cigarette
lighter adapter) will only charge a Samsung approved battery.
To continue use of your handset, press down on the Optical
Mouse.
Note: When using a non-supported battery the handset can only be used for
the duration of the life of the battery and cannot be recharged.
Important!: Using a non-supported battery may cause damage to your
phone. Use a Samsung supported battery only."

It doesn't say "Samsung" only, but "Samsung supported" only. Probably meaning it has the magnet in it.

Please post if you come up with an extended battery that works for sure.

Re: anyone hear anything...?

There is no reason we need to support two threads on this?

I think it would be better to choose one or the other.

uh thanks...this is basically what I meant... i wasnt really saying it had to be Samsung only, but merely stating a samsung made battery would be the safest bet..
