More omnia questions

I've done a bit of reading around these forums before postings, some of my questions have been answered, some have not. I suppose I'd feel more secure before spending my upgrade, if I asked my questions directly here however redundant they may be.

What I am most confused on concerning this forum is, is this a forum for the i900 AND the i910? Or just the i910?

I am very close to purchasing the i910 on the verizon network and I would just like to knwo a few things before I do.

-how "hackable" is this phone? I see alot of threads involving different apps, browsers, etc etc, is this only applicable to the i900 or to the verizon i910 as well?

-has verizon debilitated the phone into another vzw piece of garbage or does the omnia retain its compatibility with other 3rd party aps for winmo?

-does the omnia support java for apps and games or has verizon restricted that like they have with their other phones?

-how far can you go in the aspects of customization on this phone? I've read you can attempt to use HTC menus and other 3rd party menus, but I also know for non-verizon winmo phones, customization is virtually endless, is this the case with the omnia as well or has it been crippled by vzw like they so often do?

-last and most important, is it worth waiting for the omnia HD with the symbian OS, or is windows mobile a better way to go?

I know these are some basic general questions but I just want to be 100% sure before I get screwed for 2 years with a phone I can't stand.

Re: More omnia questions

1. Both.
2. Hackable how? You can make all kinds of registry changes. Custom ROMs are not possible yet though? Adding programs is just like every other Windows Mobile phone. Most programs install to both devices.
3. GPS is the only thing that Verizon disabled really. It is tied to their VZNavigator. Rumor says that they are supposed to release a new ROM (or at least cab) to unlock the GPS. Maybe as soon as this month but it is not guaranteed.
4. Not sure about java games as I have not tried them.
5. It's a windows mobile phone. You can do almost anything to it to make it like you want.
6. No clue as I have never used Symbian.
