Today 2 MMS Counter Issuse

So i received a picture message today and it caused both my SMS and my Email counters to goto 1. After viewing the message the email counter disappeared but the SMS counter stayed at 1. I couldn't get it to go away and figured maybe it was just a fluke and I should try to replicate it again so i sent myself a picture message. Well after sending the message the SMS counter reset to zero but the problem occured again when i received the message i sent myself. I sent a message to my email address and it cleared it out. Apparently the counter wont reset until it send/receives another MMS, when receiving a regular text the counter just increases to 2. This only happens with the Today 2 screen.

Same thing happened to me. I haven't found a way to fix it short of a hard reset and not restoring the email back. If you find a better solution, please post it.
