Re: Reg. Hack to Disable Clear Type
Try this...
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\ClearTypeSettings] "OffOnRotation"=1 Change "OffOnRotation" to equal 1 for the hack. Cleartype On = 0 Cleartype Off = 1 ... I think Last edited by fastevolutionviii; 03-05-2009 at 01:15 PM. |

Re: Reg. Hack to Disable Clear Type
Actually, fastevo was right, but there needs to be an additional key of NativeOrientation set to 180.
I made a cab file that will do it for you. Wait ~20 seconds and soft reset after. It does work, I tested it. *Quickly changes settings back before eyes bleed* Last edited by Adrynalyne; 03-05-2009 at 06:41 PM. |

Re: Reg. Hack to Disable Clear Type
Adrynalyne, sorry guy, not what I wanted. Yes, it disables, but it disable it "on". I would like for it to be disabled "off".
WdGldDave, just my preference. I don't like looking at a "muddy" screen with text that looks like it is smeared. I like the sharp look of no cleartype. Sorry guys, just never liked it. |

Re: Reg. Hack to Disable Clear Type
It disables it off.
I know this, because when I run it, I get this ugly jagged crap, vs. when I re-enable it. |
