Adjust Flash Sensitvity?

Seems when the flash is set to auto it Always flashses and the pictures look washed out. Any way to adjust how sensitive it is? All I could find was using some custom rom....I have the verizon version so that wont work

not only fixing the flash sensitivity would be great but also decreasing the amount of time it stays on when u take a picture. i mean that making it work as a real flash, not as a lamp on the picture u are taking.
i own a sony ericsson k850i as well and the flash is a xenon one, i know that it is better that the led flash but if we could only make the flash actually "flash" faster, that would be awsome.
