i910 screen faint blue spots

Hi,

This is my second omnia i910. My first was returned after about a month because I noticed these faint blue spots on the lower right quadrant of the screen. VZW said no prob and promptly sent me a replacement.

The replacement looked fine...for about a month. The spots have reappeared. Not in exactly the same place, but really close.

Because of the initial issue, I've been careful about how I interact with the touchscreen. Both devices have had screen protectors and hard plastic cases since unboxing. I've looked carefully at my carrying case to see if there's a problem there...nothing I can see as a problem.

Any clues?

Re: i910 screen faint blue spots

I have the same issue, but mine are in the center of my screen. They are not a terrible issue, but now know that Verizon replaced your first one, I may go have a talk with them. I have a scratch on the screen, so I hope they don't blame me for the spots. I will post back with an update once I make it to he store.

The spots are more than likely dead pixels and I had to return my first Omnia because of the same issue. I've had my second one for about two months now with no issues.

Re: i910 screen faint blue spots

I have these spots too. And I don't think they are dead pixels. They are about the size of a finger tip, but I am very careful about touching the screen. Mine kind of look like a computer screen when you press it really hard...the color distorts and slowly returns to normal but the light blue color lingers for a while.

Odd, I thought it might just be me.

Hmm...I thought there were referring to little dots which would mean some dead pixels. I have not seen this yet on either of the two Omnias I have had in the last three months.

That's EXACTLY what it looks like to me. I use a hip pouch with a magnetic closure on it and I first thought that might be what was causing it. But, the spot on mine is near the bottom on the right side. The magnet on the belt clip is dead center, so I would think if it was the magnet on the belt clip it would be on the center of the screen.
