Omnia sync issue

When I connect my Omnia to the computer it recognizes it fine and brings up the Windows Mobile Device Center. But it will only stay connected for a few minutes before losing the connection and reconnecting.

It's really annoying, especially when I'm trying to browse files and what not that are on the phone.

Is this a standard thing, or am I having some sort of issue here?

If it matters, the screen of the phone will go out (like it does when it hibernates) and then come back on when the connection is lost, almost like the phone is having some sort of power hiccup...

Re: Omnia sync issue

The phone is trying to sleep. You will need to disable that option while it is on external power.

Ah...thanks.

Just to make sure, in the power manager, on External Power tab, I need to set it to None if device is not used for x minutes?

What about the options for the backlight?

BTW, I am also using S2U2. Does that play into it at all?

Re: Omnia sync issue

You could set the backlight to turn off but that first option is the one you are going to be concerned about. As for S2U2....I am unsure, but if it is a problem, you could always put activesync.exe in its exceptions and it will not turn on while that program is running.

I changed the settings on the phone itself, but it was still happening. I checked S2U2 and that is what was causing the problem. There is a setting in it to turn the phone off after x seconds which, apparently, overrides the standard setting on the phone.

I just disabled that feature and it works fine now. Thanks for the assistance!
