Texting on the Omnia.... :(

Texting on the Omnia is a real pain in the ***...

Can you guys throw some ideas out there to make it less of a pain?

I'm using SPB Shell, SPB Plus, SPB Keyboard with the stock skin, iMarche SPB Shell skins and that's about it...

So my problem is, when I go to send a text, I always rotate the omnia to landscape. In doing so, it rotates the screen, but the f'n keyboard doesn't come back up, so I have to press the little picture of the keyboard, but it is very unresponsive... sometimes I have to push on it like 4 or 5 times, only to wait a second and find out that it was just "thinking" and then the keyboard opens and closes on the screen those 4 or 5 times... so what gives?

I shouldn't have to wait that long to type a message.. what should I change or replace to make texting less of a pain?

I certainly can't keep it like it is now...

Thanks in advance,

Don

Map the keyboard to a hard button. That will solve a lot of your headache.

Good idea...

I've noticed that if I push the keyboard icon for about 1/2 a second and hold it, then it will load up or close quickly.

I can tap it lightly and it pops up, but I dont like having to use a fingernail to access it, so the button is better for me.

Re: Texting on the Omnia.... :(

That's an excellent idea guys...

I haven't ever changed any of them on this phone or my 6700...

Which software do you use / recommend for remapping and which button did you map your keyboard to?

Thanks!

Re: Texting on the Omnia.... :(

You can use the built in function. Just go to settings, personal tab, buttons and remap one of your hardware buttons to <input panel>.
