Re: BT GPS for Omnia i910

Just to confirm. I've just tried this and it works. I have a G-sat GPS bluetooth receiver. After pairing the device to the phone, I selected the serial port when asked what services I wanted to use from this device. When in Google maps I chose options and gps settings: given the option of letting windows mobile manage the settings or inputting the settings manually, I chose manually: COM6 for the port and 0 for the baud speed. Presto! Google maps saw the G-sat when I selected 'use GPS' from the menu and found my location. So far, so good!

Re: BT GPS for Omnia i910

I just bought my omnia, and was little POd when I realized I couldn't use my BT GPS!

I deleted the redirect key as mentioned above, and now I have the gps config option in my settings, but it won't save my GPS settings? trying to set it to hardware com4 and baud of 38400 and it doens't save it.

Re: BT GPS for Omnia i910

ok, I can see my holux m1000 in the blue tooth settings, but I can't get anything to talk to it.
on my 6700 I always had the com port set to com4 in the bluetooth settings page on the wireless manager, and on the settings page, external GPS, I hda the hardware com set to com4 and the baud to 38400

on the omnia, onthe wireless settings/bluetooth options it only offers come2 and com 6.

aarggh.. this is driving me nuts. I use the GPS every day on my 6700! why the hell can't I get it working on my omnia?

EDIT: I am not sure what I did, I kept playing with the settings, and it seems to be working finally... thank god.
now I need a beer

Re: BT GPS for Omnia i910

Bless you, Wiggie. I was couldn't find the correct combination of com port and baud - I never thought of trying 0 for baud. Now my Omnia connects to my iBlue BT receiver and I'm in business. THANKS!!

Re: BT GPS for Omnia i910

I'm having the same problem and after reading the posts on this forum, I tried deleting the redirect entry fro the registry, but I still can't pair my Rikaline BT GPS with my Omnia. It connects after I enter the passcode and tells me that it's paired, but immediately disconnects and then when I try to connect it tells me that the connection failed or the passcode is incorrect. This is very frustrating! Any other suggestions?
