Re: Problem charging Omnia via USB when powered off
How very curious, mine does the same.
The Omnia must require a driver to charge via USB. I know something is different there, because my Dare can pull a charge off my laptop when it is alseep, yet my Omnia cannot. All the more reason to believe its driver related on the phone and computer end. |

...soft reset?
The phone is off, I somehow doubt a soft reset will fix an obvious design issue. |

I did try to power the device on, soft reset, power down, and the same thing happens. |

i`ve had this happen before. i soft reset...and it fixed it. any pc with a usb port will recognize this phone and give it power. so its either your port, your PC or your phn needs to be...soft reset. good luck though ![]() |

Tried it across two computers. Soft reset is nice for devices...that are not turned off.
Any other ideas? |

Bu the way, no problem charging via my wall charger or car charger when device is turned off and it charges without a problem when connected to a PC and the device is turned on. Last edited by hop2000; 01-19-2009 at 03:10 PM. |

You know what, I don't think its the Omnia at all. Look at your USB connection to the phone and look at the wallcharger--they are wired differently.
