Default keyboard in text messages?

Ok, I've found another minor quirk that is driving me crazy...when I enter into my text messages and select a "conversation" the default keyboard that pops up is the Samsunk Keyboard but it's not the text one, it's the symbols / 123 one. I will change it back to text, but the very next time I enter my text messages it changes back to the symbol / 123 one. Is this a registry thing? I hate having to switch to text for text messages. Why the heck would I want to default to symbols and numbers in a TEXT message?

Any suggestions?

Does this fix the problem with it bringing up the symbols keyboard instead of the text? It looked to me like it was just a program telling the phone which one you want depending on the screen orientation. But, it doesn't mention anything about it keeping the numbers / symbols from popping up first.

Another fix for having the text keyboard pop up all the time could be to install a 3rd party keyboard! PocketCM Keyboard is free, but SPB, RESCO, + TouchPal all are reported to work on the Omnia. I use RESCO and the ABC keyboard always pops up since I set it at the default!!
