Question Reg Editor

Just curious what everyone is using for a reg editor? I know there are at least a half a dozen out there and was wondering what advantages one might have over the other.

Re: Reg Editor

I use both Resco, Total Commander, and there's one in MemMaid too.

Re: Reg Editor

I use Resco, but after trying CeRegeditor, I am about to switch.

The neat thing is actually editing the registry from your PC. Much easier, and less room for error.

I was think of using CERegeditor myself. I like the fact of being able to use your PC to do the editing. I'm going to give it a try. I just got my Omnia yesterday and after trying it out for a day stock, it's time to start to customize. This will be my first pass at customizing a WM phone, so hopefully things don't go horribly wrong.

What version of CE are you using?

Re: Reg Editor

I use in order, CERegeditor, MemMaid and Total Commander. MemMaid is not free but is worth every penny for all the things it does. It's in my top 3 for software I couldn't do without.

Re: Reg Editor

So I just downloaded CERegeditor. I have never messed around with the registry of any phones I have owned before. Can someone walk me through how to change/create/import registry entries? I have found a few posts that have some edits I want to do, I just don't want to screw up my phone in the process. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Reg Editor

Also, will a hard reset, bring the registry back to "out of the box" in case I screw something up?

Re: Reg Editor

Yes it will, a hard reset is restoring everything to the factory defaults.

Can anyone offer some tips or general walk through on using CERegieditor to change/create/import registry entries? I know this may sound like a dumb question, but I haven't used a reg editor before and would like a better understanding of what I need to do.
