Thanks for all the info. I downloaded the CERegEditor and I used the Tools setting on the CERegEditor and did a "create image/backup". Previously I mentioned that I had downloaded the batt.reg file provided by Adrynalyne. When I open the registry with CERegEditor, I can go to that point in the notifications and see the registry for the low battery. There are three items. Durations, options and wave. Durations is a reg_dword with data number 0. Options is a reg_dword with data number 9. Wave is a reg_sz with data lowbatt.wma. I've read a little bit about these acronyms, but I'm not an expert and don't know how to write these strings and such. My question is what should I change to shut off the beeping when the battery gets to 50%? That's why I downloaded the batt.reg, but it still isn't working. The beeping still starts when it hits 50%. Also, is the backup I did equivalent to something like Resco? It appears to have copied everything on the phone and stored it on my computer.

I'm really not sure what type of backup CERegEditor does (I would assume just the regestry settings), I would suggest a full backup app like SPB Backup or RESCO and backup the entire device (PIM info, apps, reg.....everything). trust me....it comes in handy!!!!

One thing you can to if all you want to do is stop the tone is to replace the tone indicated in the reg: lowbatt.wma with a wma file of the same name but a silent clip (there is one posted earlier in this thread). That is probably the fastest + safest way of doing it.

Speaking of coming in handy--it saved me about 8 hours of tweaking and reinstalling today

CEReg is only going to back up the registry I think.

Thanks again. I did download the one earlier but it hasn't fixed the beeping. When I open the low battery notification registery it gives the key name "hkey...." then the value name is "wave" and the value data is "lowbatt.wma" What would I put in to make it silent?

Yep...just checked, it is there. just rename the silent clip and drop it in the Windows folder, OK the over-write and you should be good to go!!

You're either laughing or frustrated with me. I move files around and copy them and so on on the computer all the time. I've having trouble following your directions for the phone. Can you give me step-by-step instructions? I looked in My Device>Windows. What file am I looking for? If it is in the windows folder, how can I rename and drop it back in? The batt.reg file was saved to My Storage when I downloaded although it asked me if I should allow it to be put in the registry. I said yes and it loaded. From there I don't know what to say since it still starts beeping at 50%. Thanks for your patience.

No worries!!

What we are talking about here is getting rid of the beep. All you need to do is download the silent clip located somewhere earlier in this thread, rename it lowbatt.wma and copy it to your device's Windows folder. It will over-write the original, and then when the low battery alarm rings it will just be the silent clip playing (AKA....nothing).

Did that sound better? (pun fully intended...I couldn't resist)

I looked around and the silent clip was actually in the problem/solution thread...here it is just in case it is needed.
