Proper Installation Method

Hello,

I was wondering if someone could give me some guidance on the proper/best way to install programs on the Omnia i910. Here is what i currently do:

1. Download .CAB file into the "Personal" Directory of Main Memory
2. Run the .CAB file and install the program on the "Device".

Is this OK?

Also, after I install the .CAB, can I delete it?

Thanks a lot.

Yea thats fine, you can download the cab file anywhere on the phone u want...i download them on my storage card, and keep the file that way I can reinstall if I ever have to. I noticed with the Omnia the device storage is limited so I install everything in the "My storage"

there are some programs that have to be installed on the device memory but most others don't

Re: Proper Installation Method

I agree with pdub73 100%!! I keep all my CAB files on my memory card for future use, and install everything with a choice on My Memory!! CAB files are the easiest way to install, but for the ones you can only find EXE files for, you need to install them through ActiveSync (but you can find 9 out of 10 apps on CABs with some searching).
