PIM backup from old phone to new

I have PIM backup saving all my contacts, messages, calendar, and with the custom, my internet favorites. It is on my wm htc (cooked rom on 6700)
I am wondering, I am getting the Omnia tomorrow and loading PIM backup onto it asap. Wondering if that will work to backup all my stuff onto the new phone. If there are no responses before I do that, I'll report. I also have all of my "extra" software on the storage card which will be transfered over to the Omnia. So I hope I can just hit the cabs and go, just the way I like it. I was a little worried when they referred to this as a "smartphone" and the 6700 was a ppc. With my research on this, I don't think there is a difference now as there used to be. In fact the Verizon site also called the HTC pro a smartphone. So I think I can have everything I wanted.
Also, thank you Verizon for not abandoning wifi for me.
As a side note, PIM backup has SAVED my life so many times. You of course save it to the card.

Re: PIM backup from old phone to new

As long as it's running WinMob you should be good. The PIM files don't really differ much between devices, so you should be able to transfer to it.

Re: PIM backup from old phone to new

Yes it worked. The default browser "Opera" did not get my IE favorites. IE did get the favorites. I tried to find a place where Opera could "copy favorites from IE" but couldn't find. I have a LOT. Any solutions there?
Good thing I did that too because at the V store, they tried to transfer contacts and couldn't "for some reason" she said. They all came over with pictures using PIM backup.
