Omni & External GPS

Will those readily available bluetooth (key chain style) external GPS receivers work with the Omni? So that Live and Google Maps can take advantage of the external GPS?

Re: Omni & External GPS

I can't say anything about Live or GoogleMaps, but there are a LOT of people using external BT GPS devices, so I would think the free apps would work file with them as well!!

Funny you ask... I just bought the Delorme BT with maps... ($99) I have loaded the map software it came with and found it was a hassle to use. It made you choose the maps you want to upload but you have to pay for sat views. So I started google maps an wow I'm in love... got sat views, GPS info, & Traffic.

Re: Omni & External GPS

I have a Holux BT GPS receiver and it works great with the Omnia and Google Maps. http://www.holux.com/JCore/en/products/products_spec.jsp?pno=227
