Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!

Hello everyone. Here's my problem with my Omnia:
I soft reset my phone and I couldn't get pass the Align Screen. So I followed some of the advices on the web like hard reset, format the phone, but I still can't pass the screen. I've tried thousands of times for hours, and I've been EXTREMELY patient. So now, I can't pass the screen and I can't sync my phone with my laptop because I formated it. The only thing I can think about is to find a software to communicate with my Omnia without ActiveSync, so I can edit the start file (I think it's called "welcome"), pass the Align Screen and edit the Registry with the correct values.
Do you know it there's such a software to communicate with my Omnia without ActiveSync?
Thanks for your help!!!

I had the wireless thing disappear from there too one time, I think while I was trying to get my outlook email set up through Activesync. Once I was done and restarted my phone, it was back though. It is very strange, I dont get why it does that.

AdvancedConfig.exe
TypeLoadException
File or assembly name
'System.Windows.Forms,
Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral,
PublicKey Token=969DB8053D3322AC',
or one of its dependencies, was not

What does this error mean?

I don't know about PPC's, but I work on alot of Nokia BB5 and older models, and we see them come in with full memory alot, and they always do funny things like resetting, running slow, freezing up, shutting off and not powering on for a while. Your power description just sounded very familiar....

It's possible, although there's a LOT of memory on these devices (at least compared to my old xv6800), so it seems like when I look in task manager there's usually 40-50M of ram still available...

This most recent lockup, I had just closed all tasks with the samsung task manger/switcher... There was a lot of stuff that was apparently running at the time, so I'm somewhat suspicious of this.

Random resets and shut offs are usually because the phone runs into a problem accessing certain sections of memory. Sometimes it is fixed by reprogramming, but sometimes the memory IC just has bad blocks of memory and needs replaced. I would return the phone.... But, again, this is on nokia phones....

Here's an interesting problem. I set my backlight on my Omnia i910 manually to the brightest level. It stays bright all the time whether I send a text message, go into the main menu, etc. But when I go to make a phone call, the screen dims after dialing the number and I can't seem to brighten it again unless I soft reset. If I go to settings/system/backlight, the manual backlight scroller will not respond at all. I use Adrynalyn's black waterdroplet dialer and I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!

Hi everyone! I am new to this hacking stuff. I have had my omnia for about 2 months now. It is the best phone I have had. Before omnia, I had a 6800. I am running pointui and S2U2. I also have done all of the important hacks and tricks and reg edits. I have never had problems with the extras. I only have 2 problems that are existing on the omnia that I havent fixed yet. 1 is the keyboard. I dont like it. So tonite I loaded pocket cm keyboard to find it locking my phone up andf making it glitchy and slow. so I removed it even though I didnt even get a chance to use it. The other problem is to be notified if I miss a call or a text. I have seen some posts on here and read alot about it but cant make a decision on what to install for that. does anyone have any suggestions or prefer something. I have loaded missed call reminder 1.2.5.2 tonite but havent seen it in action yet. Also is there any suggestions on a better keyboard that will work on my omnia with more finger friendly keys?

Search for fingerkeyboard2 in the forums. Its the best keyboard by far in my opinion...

Hi Adrynalyne
Why did you go back to the Samsung keyboard? How do I go about flashing CC20 to my phone? Also, could you remind me how to switch from one dialer to another that's downloaded in the My Storage folder. Could you give me a possible answer regarding my backlight question a few posts up from this one. Thanks a million.
