you can count on sprint to be behind the 8 ball in updating there line of phones.
E care said they have no intension of getting the omnia at this time . I sent back the touch pro as it was cheap and very poorly sensitive screen . The omnia looks awsome as far as touch functioning and scrolling

I would say that Sprint is pretty good at keep their feature phones up to date.. They had the Diamond out (Verizon has yet to release it) and the Touch Pro out a month before.. And their phones are not 'crippled'... But I bet Sprint is holding back for a much better phone, like the rumored Microsoft Phone or a version of the HTC Touch HD.. It would be nice to have the Omnia for Sprint though...

I'm a in patient person I have been waiting for this phone for about 5 months to come out and when it finally does sprint does not have it,.....W O W

Reading the reviews so far. I think Sprint will be very sorry it didn't go with this phone . I am going to look at it in the showroom , and if as good as it seems , goodbye sprint.

As far as Sprint dropping the ball, etc. I would imagine that most of these carriers don't like to release too many high end devices of the same type at once for marketing purposes. It makes more sense to have a flagship device. Not sure why Sprint seems intent on making that the Instict but I guess to the casual observer looking for simple, less expensive, and trendy, it fits the bill.

As far as switching for this, there is no way I would pay double or triple what I pay for my data now and go to Verizon. $15/month for unlimited 3G has yet to be beaten by anyone so it takes more than an incremental upgrade to current devices to get me to leave. That **** adds up and Sprint's data is the fastest option in my area.

I think the only devices that would tempt me away from my cheap and fast data are truly groundbreaking ones like a Tegra phone or something along the lines of a 2nd gen Android device. Everything else is just like a bigger screen or a bit more RAM than my current phone.

Good point Neo.. Verizon has released the Omnia, the Touch Pro, and the Storm in less then 2 weeks... I know they are all different... But to release three major Smartphones like that is a bit crazy in such a short period... Has anybody seen any advertising for the Verizon Touch Pro or the Omnia? I havent yet...

Nope, because advertising for the Touch Pro would not lure customers away from ATT or Sprint because they both have the Touch Pro. They are over-adverstising the Storm in hopes of poaching Blackberry Addicts from other major carriers.

As for the Omnia they really should be advertising that. By the way the price just dropped to $199!!!
