Also when ending a call, pressing the end button simply turns the display back on and it takes a second press of the end button to end the call. Previous phones I've had were such that pressing the end button during a call both turned the display back on AND ended the call.

Next, can I get missed call/missed text, new voicemail notifications to stay on the screen til I manually clear them?

I tried to go into setting/personal/phone/alerts to see if there was a setting there but not so. While there I enabled a connect tone option but now I can't get that window to close no matter what options I choose. I can't get to any other setting/personal/phone options because that window always comes up. Is this just a bug in the rom?

There's other glitches it seems but for a last question, will spb shell still play nice with this rom? I'm not sure I want spb shell but I'd like to try it again on the new rom if it won't mess things up.

First off, slow down. In my head, that post sounded like it was spoken by a person that had just gotten finished running a 10K.

Next, as I tell my users, STOP CLICKING. It sounds like you're jumping into areas and changing options that you have no idea about, and that keeps glitching you up. You've done it twice on this page of the thread alone.

That said, welcome to the world of flash addiction. Eventually you'll find a "happy place" and slow down, but then after a few weeks/months you'll get back into it.

To answer a lot of your questions, I offer this:
  • Do everything again from scratch.
  • Back up your stuff. Plenty of good programs to back up everything with; personally, I own a copy of RESCO backup.
  • Load the original ROM, following the instructions while paying close attention to what's going on.
  • Figure out which overlay ROMs/addons to use
  • DOCUMENT EVERYTHING as far as which versions of addons you load, the order you load them in, etc.
  • Get the phone to where you want it
  • Lather, rinse and repeat

You can't be afraid to back up, load ROMS and restore. If you are, you'll be uncomfortable jumping around in the ROM looking at things and experimenting, which is what you're doing.

I'm sure someone has a suggestion for a home screen app that keeps track of all of your notifications. Just look around a bit and experiment. If you screw something up, who cares? You'll have your list to go by, and a solid backup of your information.

When you get comfortable, just load up the ROM you like, add the apps and such, set everything the way you like and cook up your own version! That's probably the answer you're looking for, because it seems that you're torqued by all the little details and probably hate to start from scratch. That would be my suggestion: learn to cook up your own flavor so your restoration time is minimal.
