Re: Memory frustration!

Flashing to a non-stock ROM is the only way to get much in the way of extra / unused memory. There just isn't a whole lot to begin with and between Samsung and VZW, they use most of it.

Did my first flash late last year and never looked back. Truthfully, it is a whole other world.

ok Im confused. you are saying it adds storage memory? I only have 92 mb to start with and you are saying it adds to that?
I fought with that for so long. Flash it to a base ROM and install only what you want. You can get ROMS with 170mb free.
wow thats cool.
by base you mean I can still use my mobile shell and phonex right? all the cooked roms Ive seen remove Office and/or Touch player. i dont want to lose either of them because I use them often

Re: Memory frustration!

Loiryte has a great link on his ROM page in the Omnia upgrades link. He has ALL KINDS of programs you can load on a base ROM. I also suggest using the Extendir program to load those programs. This works great when flashing. I am using Mobile shell now, but I got rid of Phonex since it had some bugs with the newer ROMs.

Play around with new ROMs, it will make your Omnia fun again.

Base generally means pretty bare, as in few applications are loaded. You can still load any of your own, and as for touch player, you can get it from here (ignore the note that says "only supported in my roms, it will work with any rom, as I've just checked). Office is usually included in roms, but the download for it is in the same link above if you need it.
