by base you mean I can still use my mobile shell and phonex right? all the cooked roms Ive seen remove Office and/or Touch player. i dont want to lose either of them because I use them often

Base generally means pretty bare, as in few applications are loaded. You can still load any of your own, and as for touch player, you can get it from
here (ignore the note that says "only supported in my roms, it will work with any rom, as I've just checked). Office is usually included in roms, but the download for it is in the same link above if you need it.
