Re: Need experienced help
I could have sworn I'd reponded to this post...
Anyway, I'm currently running Waremike's M2D 28011 ROM. I use S2U2 as a slider/unlock app. Works great. You shouldn't have any trouble changing keyboards on whatever ROM you choose to use. Flashing can be a little scary at first, but as long as you follow the instructions and don't unplug your phone while it is updating the ROM, you'll be okay. You will be amazed at how easy it is after you've gone through the process once or twice. Good luck! |

Re: Need experienced help
^^ That just about covers it.
I've made a few posts in threads like these detailing what programs/modifications etc I like, and I'm sure there's many others. First thing I did when I got mine was to do a lot of reading and browsing forums (this one and XDA-developers, even though they're not that omnia friendly, they do have some good info). ps before flashing ROMs, make sure the phone has the latest CF03 update because you will not be able to do any flashing without it. start > settings > system > version I think is the way to get to the screen that tells you the ROM version. VZW and Samsung have an official update to bring you up to speed with that, and then for the "cooked" ROms all you need is a tool called UMDL and the .bin file. There's definitely no lack of instructions around here but feel free to ask. |

Re: Need experienced help
I might add that the newest SPB Mobile Shell is a pretty good alternative to M2D and is easy to install with no necessary tweaking except choosing which widgets you'd like to use. I second S2U2 I've been using that for about a year and it just keeps getting better.
