Re: Samsung Battery Life issue workaround

Who cares about the 85 hours.

I am trying to help you and others with this problem. I didn't look up information on the "internet", it is based on studies at a university and I was using it to back up where my facts for helping you, so you can figure out where I am coming from, and you make your own judgement instead of counting on mine or from hear say... I don't "think" it's factual, because it is based on it's actual construction/assembly from the manufacturer (what the studies show on what I linked, not what the OP posted).

But hey whatever floats your boat, I'm done..

Re: Samsung Battery Life issue workaround

@Jamn424 - thanks for summarizing what you've seen out there!

I've noticed battery life has improved significantly over time....the trickle charge method + turning off aGPS services (since they don't apparently work) and WiFi have me lasting from 8am > 1am with moderate use all day. Not 89.5 hours, but definitely very useable..and better than the initial 6hrs

I had my moment for a week charging up fully every night. As soon as I unplugged the charger the status dropped to 80% and went down quickly from there. It was down to nothing (less than 15%) by mid afternoon (nothing works-- gps, etc. after it gets down that low). Then I read about using the USB charger to "fill it up" and ever since, my battery is lasting over 36 hrs with normal usage; not 85 but still better than any other smart phone I've had. Even the manual suggests using it till it is fully discharged at least once a month.

Re: Samsung Battery Life issue workaround

ajac...you are absolutely correct that Li-Ion batteries do not have an memory effect. However, the OP is correct that the battery guage "digital circuitry" that measures the voltage, and compares it to the high/low tendencies of the battery, needs to be reset using the method in the original post.

Don't believe me then fine, but do us all a favor and take a deep breath and read the entire post (including url) before you start laying into someone who is obviously trying to help us all.

And...before you make up some reason why I shouldn't know what i am talking about I build custom batteries including Li-Ion for a living.

Re: Samsung Battery Life issue workaround

A deep cycle once a month works to give accurate software battery meter readings on my moment. Thanks for the info, guys.
